About me

For me, counselling is a process of empowering my clients to get in touch with their own inner potential for change and growth. I try to assist you in navigating your rough seas, very well knowing that there isn't the one route but that everybody needs to find her/his way through challenging times.

Our (early) life experience can result in powerful (unconscious) patterns and ways of relating. Through counselling I try to help you become more aware of these and invite you to explore different ways of being and relating (to yourself and others). Understanding how your past influences your present can also change your view of self and help develop new and more satisfying ways of being.

In my eyes, human life and its challenges are far too complex for one approach or theory. In my work I therefore combine humanistic and psychodynamic approaches. I also like to work creatively (e.g. working with colours or inner images).

I did my training in Humanistic and Integrative Counselling from 2009-2012 at the Bath Centre for Psychotherapy & Counselling in England. This course is accredited by BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), one of the two main bodies in this field in Great Britain. It combined theories from different backgrounds and focused on the counselling relationship. In depth self-exploration and -development, including being in psychotherapy for the duration of the training, were important parts of that training.

While living in England I worked as a counsellor in a GP practice for some years. This gave me the huge benefit of working with clients bringing a broad range of issues (e.g. depression, health/death anxiety, bereavement, separation/divorce, low self-esteem or unemployment/financial problems). I also worked in private practice.

Later, I lived in Athens, Greece, where I also worked in a private counselling practice, with people from several backgrounds, bringing a range of issues.

Now I work in a practice in Berlin-Mitte and also offer online counselling.

Continuing professional development as well as regular supervision with an experienced therapist from England are integral parts of my work.

I am a registered member of the „Verband Freier Psychotherapeuten, Heilpraktiker für Psychotherapie und Psychologischer Berater e.V.“ and guided by BACP's 'Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions'. I carry professional liability insurance to cover my practice.
